I really do hope they’ve found a new lead developer for Spintires, that’s what it desperately needs. I think they are being bullied by greedy corporations Focus and Saber with long drawn out legal proceedings, all the while stopping Oovee from developing their own game. Oovee has always said due to legal issues it can’t comment. Now if you had a legal agreement of some sort which ended you would not need to go back in time, this suggests they didn’t have a legal right to use Spintires in their advertising and promotions which is trademark infringement (passing off the goodwill of another). So many questions, hopefully some answers soon.īut for now, I'm just elated that Spintires is finally a Perfect Game.įocus and Saber have been scrubbing out all references to Spintires from their websites and forums, not only dropping Spintires from the name but actually removing references to it from posts etc. did Saber run off and build MR behind Oovee's back? Two "branches" of Spintires competing with each other? Who is leading Oovee's dev efforts? Who is the unnamed third-party. But it seems as though, with MR2 in development, Oovee are coming back at the same time and resuming The Original Game. complete with allegations of "unlawful" content removals and unexplained claims that an unknown third-party was supposed to be continuing Spintires development.Įvidently everything is still very shady and speculative. Spintires is now "Spintires: The Original Game" on its store page.Īnd, finally, the impossible achievement is gone.Ĭombined with the email which was sent to Kickstarter backers (not me, but it's pasted in a thread here) it seems to suggest Oovee is coming back to life. This is all about to get very interesting I think.
